Q: Why are the people on my baggage "wish list" not in the baggage list?

A: Until a member has signed-up for a specific league, they won't appear on the baggage drop-down list. Nag the people who don't appear and keep checking whether they've signed-up by editing your baggage. (You can edit your baggage by logging into your Member Home and clicking the "edit" button next to the appropriate league.)

Q: How do I communicate my core to SLUA?

A: You will communicate a core by adding them to your baggage. The person identified as the "Manager" will have the official core contained in their baggage, so long as each member in that baggage contains the "Manager" in their core. Do not put people with whom you'd like to play in the comments section.

Q: If I volunteer to be a manager, is my baggage given added weight for the core?

A: Yes! The baggage identified by someone listing themselves as the Manager is the official baggage for a team, (provided that the members have cross-listed the manager in their baggage).

Q: Is there any advantage what so ever to waiting before I sign up?

A: No! In fact, for the Coed leagues there is the distinct possibility that you won't get to play if you sign up too late. Sign up and pay as early as you can.

Q: Can I pay my league fee at the first game?

A: No. In order to be eligible to be placed on a team, you must pay the league fee either by using the Paypal option or by mailing a check.

Q: I know I'm a USA Ultimate member, but I can't remember my USA Ultimate number, are my assurances good enough?

A: No. Unfortunately, you don't have to convince SLUA that you're a USA Ultimate member, you have to convince the USA Ultimate... Go to https://members.usaultimate.org/members/login.php and enter the information they request to find your USA Ultimate number.

Q: Why does it cost more if I'm not a USA Ultimate member?

A: The USA Ultimate provides SLUA our liability insurance. The USA Ultimate extends liability coverage for its members. Instead of charging everyone the same fee, SLUA has chosen to differentiate those who already have pass-thru coverage from those who don't.

Q: I hear that SLUA turns away men from the COED leagues each year. What can I do to increase my chances of being accepted?

A: The only way to assure yourself of being in one of these leagues is to be "protected" by a female. Sign up for a league and use your first baggage for a female who's first baggage is you. (The first baggage of a female is "protected" so long as that male lists the female in his baggage.) If you aren't protected, your best chance is to sign up early.
